Annie Joyce
12.41 square miles of land
Five times that of water
And yet I'd venture to say
This place is the whole world
There are cities underneath
A sun crisped mound of seaweed
On Carrying Place Beach
And entire civilizations
Shaded by the cool damp of
Pine shadows
At Solomon's cove
The stars slope down at the edges
Of this sky
And bend to kiss
The cool plain of Find Sand
The whole glittered stretch
A passionate portrayal
Of the cosmos desire
For us
And it's want
To be at East Point
For the sunrise
